This Saturday will have the finale of The Ultimate Fighter season 14 and in this season we will have the clash of the coaches between Michael Bisping and Jason Miller. There is also the finale for the Bantamweight division between John Dodson and T.J. Dillashaw and the finale for the featherweight division between Diego Brandao and Dennis Bermudez.
Michael Bisping vs. Jason "Mayhem" Miller
This fight will be the fight between the coaches of this season. Jason "Mayhem" Miller is a well known fighter due to hosting the MTV2 show "Bully Beatdown". He came from submitting Kazushi Sakuraba in Dream 16 and this is his first fight in the UFC since his loss to GSP on UFC 52. He has a good ground game and his fight between Jake Shields and Ronaldo Souza proves that point. The ground fight will be his best option in this fight. Michael Bisping comes with 3 winning streak. Bisping is one of the most defensive fighters in the UFC. He has great takedown defense and he use a very precise boxing to keep the fight standing and punish the opponent. The problem with Bisping is that he seems to have lack of power in his punches.
Bottom Line: I like the energy that Jason Miller puts in his fights but his best chance in this fight is take Bisping down. Bisping is a better boxer than Miller however the lack of power in his punches can make Miller go forward without hesitating to try a takedown. I'm a fan of "Mayhem" but I see Bisping winning this by decision using his footwork to win points and neglect the takedown.
John Dodson vs. T.J. Dillashaw
This will be the finale for the Bantamweight division in this TUFF 14. This fight sure is a candidate for fight of the night. John Dodson is flyweight fighter that is trying his chances in the Bantamweight division since there is not flyweight division in the UFC for now. With his 5'3" height he uses quickness to hit and go. During the season he showed an excellent takedown defense. He has a great boxing and throws very fast kicks. T.J. Dillashaw is a good wrestler that mixes his takedowns with his boxing that seems to be improving each fight. He is undefeated in his 4 bouts.
Bottom Line: Dillashaw will be looking to takedown Dodson but that will be a difficult task since Dodson has a great takedown defense and is very elusive. This will be a close fight but I expect to Dodson dominate the first 2 rounds and win a close decision.
Diego Brandado vs. Dennis Bermudez
This will be the finale for the Featherweight division. Diego Brandado has looked amazing in this season with his power punches and kicks. He looked very strong against in his semifinal fight against a wrestler. He showed very good takedown defense and like many Brazilians he showed good Muai Thay. His opponent Dennis Bermudes has showed a good wrestling and good ground control. He has a great condition and his best option is taking down Brandado.
Bottom Line: In his last fight Bermudez had trouble in the standup against Akira and if he hasn't improved in the standup he will have problems against Brandado. The best option for Bermudez is use his wrestling but Brandado a great takedown defense and I expect Brandado stuffing every takedown and win the fight by ko.
Tony Ferguson vs. Yves Edwards
Tony Ferguson is the winner of the season 13 of The Ultimate Fighter. After he last fight on the season and his win against Aaron riley he seems to be a great prospect with a great future and this match will serve him of test to see if he can succeed against better competition. Ferguson has a good standup and wrestling. He likes to counter punching and he can be successful on the standup or in the ground since he has a good wrestling base. His opponent Yves Edward is a veteran of the sport and he is fighting since 2026. Edwards is a good overall fighter that has the tools to beat a good fighter. He has good standup and great submissions skills. He has a great chin although he lost by ko in the first round against Sam Stout.
Bottom Line: Edwards is the perfect test for Ferguson all depends if Ferguson can deal with the experience of Edwards. I expect to Ferguson use his counter punches and ko Yves Edward by third round.
Johnny Bedford vs. Louis Gaunidot
This will be a great fight between 2 bantamweight fighters. Johnny Bedford has fight most of his career in the featherweight division but he enter to eh show as bantamweight to try luck in this division. For this weight he is a very large fighter and he was one of the favorites to win the show until he lost in the semifinals against Dodson where he was ko. He uses the clinch to punish his opponents and has a great wrestling. Louis Gaunidot is another promising fighter that his best division is the flyweight division but since in the UFC there is not a Flyweight division he is taking his chances in this weight. Gaunidot has a great standup but his problem is that he is too small for this division. He is similar to Dodson in height, 5'3" but Dodson seems to be stronger and Gaunidot had problem in his loss in the show due to be overpowered.
Bottom Line: Louis Gaunidot is a great fighter but I think that he will be overpowered by Johnny Bedford. His best option is to try to not get in the clinch but eventually will be inevitable and he will be dominated.
